The Kendra Necklace
How time flies…
Throughout my entire childhood, my cousin Kendra and I were practically inseparable. She was more like a sister than a cousin, and we did nearly everything together. We have so many crazy memories, and have so much in common. Both of us are singers and we’re both into fashion, so whenever we are together we are either singing something (Yolanda Adams’ “A Prayer Away” is our favorite) or picking out outfits for each other to wear.
Now that I live in New York, I don’t see her as often as before, but our relationship is still strong. Kendra is now a married woman, with a child on the way. I most recently saw her at her baby shower. Here’s a few pictures of her at the event, along with her husband Will:
Thinking about my wonderful cousin, I am developing a new line of necklaces named after her. They are made out of environmentally sustainable hemp twine, using a traditional macrame knot reminiscent of childhood arts and crafts. They are fun and carefree, for the relaxed trendsetters.
